When doing a slow, locked turning manouver (like making a three point turn) a rubbing sound comes from the front end. The sound is very much like a rope tightening and suggests nothing more than something in need of a lube. Thoughts?

I get the same noise in my 98 V70 T5 on slow turns. How do I lube these steering stops?

Yes, you need to lube the steering stops on both sides, simple to do.
