Trunk light switch seems to have jammed - the light stayed on and drained the batt when I didn't need the car over a couple of days. Anyone a hint how to clean or repair the switch? Or what else could have caused the trouble?

The trunk latch / power lock is the actual "Trunk light switch". There is also a rolling on/off switch on the light itself (mounted on the bottom side of the rear hat rack, inside the trunk space). But the switch on the light itself only controls whether or not the light comes on when the trunk is open, its not really a three position type switch, or it won't turn the light ON if the trunk lid is not open in the first place. When you roll that switch to the OFF position can you turn the light OFF ? Unless you're gonna pull the trunk power lock switch out of the trunk lid and get into further troubleshooting you may just have to turn the power to the light off with that roller switch on the light. At least that will save your battery.

sorry, maybe I should have been more precise... The roller switch is fine and does turn the light out when OFF. The problem is the other switch that should turn off when the latch is closed. I could even remove the bulb to be sure but the light is a comfortable thing, and now the damage is done - the battery recharged but the stereo is dead (the dealer did not have the card with the code on.) So, you say, the other switch is in the lock on the bottom of the trunk florr? Right, thanks a lot, I'll have a look.
