Oscillating Idle speed V70-XC70 1999

I have 70k miles on my X/C and recently the idle speed of the engine has started oscillating up and down by about 600 rpm. Has anyone experienced this and know what might cause it?

    Should have codes read first but it's probably either the MAF meter or electronic throttle unit.

      Like Frank said.

      Cleaning the throttle body MIGHT be the cheap fix.

        ....cleaning MIGHT but more often they go bad and need replacing. The early units are known to be problematic.

          Would you happen to know if the currently available replacement is an updated part? (Mine was replaced under warranty about a year ago.)
