Tranmission or Turbo problem..can anyone help me with this..?? 850 1995

Can someone guide me where to look for the problem regarding my 95 turbo not shifting at all even if I give it full gas..I get the acceleration but the transmission to be stuck in a gear during full throttle..I get the power but not the tturbo boost I used to get before..The turbo gauge seems to be stuck at hard acceleration and does not come back below the line automatically after I get the pick up..

Not sure if this is related..I do sometime smell sulfur again during this accleration..

Would appreciate some help on where to look for the problem..on how big a mess this might be.,.

Morgan,

If it's not shifting, I would certainly not be giving it full throttle! This is a smart car. You won't get any turbo boost if the tranny ECU is not sending proper information to other parts of the car. It's sort-of like insurance so that you won't do permanent damage to other components.

DID YOU CHECK FOR CODES? When I had shifting problems, it was because of the PNP neutral switch that went bad. If your's is bad, you'll have a code for it. Do you have any warning lights? Do you have a blinking "arrow-up" on the dash?

Do you routinely (each year) have the transmission flushed?

I would guess it's the PNP or a bad tranny ECU.
