Power Window Failure S70

I have owned a S70 for a while, love it - ,however we cannot roll down any of the power windows or the sun roof. I have changed the fuse but find that it heats up as soon as a power window is attempted to be used and renders them un-usable. Is there a simple solution to this lack of oxygen flow to the inside?

Power Window Failure S70

Just had a problem with my drivers side door switch cluster (some windows went down but not up). Replaced the cluster, and all works well now, but, on the cluster is what I belive is an over current protection device, perhaps yours is bad, and you end up drawing too much current which blows the fuse.

To troubleshoot a little, if you remove the cluster, there are 3 plugs, two larger ones, 1 smaller one. The two larger ones are for the windows (1 for the front windows, the other for the rear). You could disconnect 1 for a while and see if the problem occurs, then reconnect it, and disconnect the other one.

A new cluster sw. cost me $137.

Get the wiring diagrams, and try some differential diagnosis;
If the effect on the fuse is the same with all the windows, then look for a short around a wire which is common to all the windows, but probably between the fuse and the window switches. Has anybody done any installations or mods under the dash--radio, cd changer hookup, adding fog lights, etc? If so, look in the physical area where one of the wires might have been compromised.
If the problem is really only with one, or less than all, the windows, look closer to the window switch and window motor. Has somebody replaced any of the speakers in the doors and disturbed the window wiring?
Let us know what you find.
Good luck
