Replacement of Position Light S60 2001

I need info on how to remove and replace the position light. This is the light bulb located on the bottom of the left side rear view mirror. The manual does not cover this particular item.
Thanks in advance for your response.

I have the fault code "bulb failure, position light". Did you finally work out where the "position light" was - I checked all my lights and they all seem to be working.

The bulb is the one under the left side mirror. It turns off or on when you activate the remote device. It does not turn off or on now. I still have no clue as to how to replace the bulb inside the left side mirror. I believe Volvo calls it "position light" due to the fact that it alerts you as to where your car is parked when you activate the remote.

The position lights in my V70 are in the tail light assemblies, not the mirror. You might check the back of your car really carefully. I bet you get access to these through a panel inside the trunk. On the wagon it requires an arm with two wrists to reach in there and turn the bulb out.
