Got my ABS module back today from Victor. Everything works great. He was very communicative during the process, turnaround and shipping time was very fast, and he saved me $300. I highly recommend Victor's service!

      Hi!

Victor Rocha's email is vicrocha@earethlink.net. He also has a web page that explains in detail how the ABS module repair deal works. Here is the link:

Victor's service is very fast, I highly recommend it. Plus it saves you $300. E5 torx socket needed to remove ABS module can be found on Ebay every once in a while, and Snap-on also sells it for $8.50. Good luck!

      Alex

        V70 ABS Module repair / Victor Rocha V70-XC70 1998

I just got my ABS module back after Victor Rocha repaired it, and everything is fine once again. No lights on the dash. Great work. I live in Canada and it took about week and a half, but it was worth waiting. He even sent me a step by step manual how to reinstall the module back. I had all kinds of lights on on the dash - ABS, Brake frailer service ASAP, Track control, Emission control, Transmission, Power steering and now all of them are off. I only had to go and reset the code for the transmission. Great guy and he will save you money. This is on Volvo S80.

    V70 ABS Module repair / Victor Rocha V70-XC70 1998

Here's my 1998 V70GLT ABS saga. Just got the car used with 75k and the ABS light on. Sent the module to Victor who promptly repaired and returned it, (thanks again, Victor).Re-installed the module but the light stayed on. Looking further, I found the previous owner had the right rear wheel sensor replaced with a non-Volvo part and it was bad. Installing the proper rear sensors (they only come as a pair from Volvo) got everything working okay. Appears that someone scanned the ABS code and saw the usual right-rear sensor failure (even though the most common problem is a defective ABS module which fails in the right-rear sensor area). I'm sure the original sensor was okay, it was the controller. So here's another satisfied customer of Victor Rocha.

A removal of ABS controller (presuming that you have External Torx E5 socket) is a very simple process. It took me 15 minutes to do it, following Victor's instructions, takes about that long to install it back. Good luck!

15mins...um toke me a little longer. A word of warning for those that have a turbo...bits get in the way. Borrow the child from next door..the one with small hands to do the job for you or try the following.

Unclip the airbox cover and remove the air filter.
Unhook the fuse box and place it inside the now empty air box.
Now start to follow Victors instructions..small hands still help to get between the very big intake pipe from the airbox to the turbo. The connector from the controller will also fit in the air box to keep everything out of the way.

Most of the comments seem to be US in origin so I don't now if a left hand drive car has a different layout..but I wouldn't have thought so. Also, I found a supplier here in the UK that sells repaired ABS/Tracs controller for £225+tax (with a 12month returns policy). Not bad..a lot cheaper than the £330 from Volvo. The next-day delivery helped, also the said if it didn't fix it then you can return it and you just pay for the postage. Rather than advertise the company on the board, if you need details, email me.

I just purchased the E5 socket last week to remove my ABS module for Victor. I was on vacation in Florida and quick dove into a tool store to see if they had one. (Wife was thrilled) I couldn't find one here in Clarksville, TN; and was going to pay $5 + s/h to get one sent. For $10.99 +tax I got about 11 sockets! Yatta!

How difficult was it to get the ABS module out? (Assuming you did it yourself!)

I second that thought. Victor repaired mine (98 V70) and it has been operating fine for a week now.

I don't know about you guys, but I've Emailed Victor twice in the past two weeks and have not received a reply. It is about the ABS on a '96 850 wagon. Does Victor have any experience in repairing this ABS module?
Some sort of reply would be in order.
      Thanks.
