s80 lo beam aim S80

Just replaced both lo beam headlight bulbs. They are much brighter but need to be aimed up in my opinion. Anyone know how to do this adjustment?

There is a small hex head screw for vertical adhustment sticking up behind the headlite. The screws under the "do not remove" plastic cover are for horizontal adjustment.

Yes, the other reply is absolutely correct. Don't mess around with the horizontal adjustment, though! And please be careful when doing the adjustment. Although you can adjust them so they shine farther out, you will also be blinding other drivers.

BTW, what bulbs did you get?

I've tried some different bulbs, including a new set of the Volvo bulbs, some Sylvania Silverstar bulbs, and some Optx bulbs. The former two are 55W, and the Optx are 70W. The Optx are marketed to the 'customizer' crowd (ie ricers), and are tinted blue to mimic HID's. Although the light pattern of the Silverstars were by far the best (it provided a perfectly even beam all over), the Optx were brighter, and I will admit that the slightly blue color does look nice. Some light vertical lines are visible on the extreme sides of the beam (what would be shining into the ditch on a rural road), but it's not a big deal.

I'm going to try the Silverstars again and do a comparison.
