Transmission problem code 3-2-3 850

I have recently bought a Volvo 850 93 model with 180K. After few weeks The Arrow indicator started to blink and the Code in A1 is 3-2-3 . I did a ATF Flush and reset the Error codes. The car was running well for about 50 kms and the Arrow indicator started to blink again.
The description for the code is Lock-up slips or is not engaged. Dealer told me the transmission has to be replaced. Do you guys had similar problem and is there any cheaper solution for it.

Thanks
Ris

Hey Ris,
Thats about the only fix for most of the mechanical problems with the 850's tranny. I emailed you a copy of the troubleshooting file, you can read through it and see if it looks like something you want to work on or just get the tranny rebuilt/replaced.

Mike

I have had the same problem...just putting in my 3rd transmission in the past 6 months. I love this car so much, I simply can't part with it. If you go to one of the online part shops, you can get it installed for around $700 (in TX). I got my last one from Green(I don't remember the last part of the name). It was about $1000 and came with a 6 month warranty. Otherwise, you may have to order it from Japan. That will surely cost an arm and a leg. But on the bright side...after you get over the transmission issues, it's all great!
