intercooler bypass 850 1994

what do you think about to bypass the intercooler during winter time to avoid stalling every 30 min on the highway ,,,,i dont appreciate to stall at -17f
(-29c) need opinions thanks

I woudnt do it-
i guess you could- but I dont think that is your problem. Engines are engineered to run in any condition that the fuel stays liquid at- so i dont think that the intake air temp is your problem. If you think it is - dont bypass it - just place a "blanket" over it of use a cardboard sheild to stop a lot of the airflow, that way you wont tweek any sensors but will limit temp drop accross your core, think big rig radiator blanket.

I have tried cardboard in front of the radiator. Does not make a difference. Where would you recommend we put the cardboard? (I have this problem anytime the weather is colder than -20 C). It has been -30 and below this week, car wouldn't start even when plugged in, then when it did start (after letting it warm in garage) it ran fine for approx. 10 minutes, then gradually ran much slower, like it could not get any gas.
