Hello all,

I added a trip computer to my '95 850 back in August. It was a southern car and had only a clock in the dashboard and non-heated seats.

Everything works fine on the trip computer, except the outside temperature reading. I'd like to have this functioning, but don't know where to start.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if there's an unused connector for the temperature sensor somewhere on the front of the car. I'd suspect there is, since I found the heated seat wiring under each of the front seats when I replaced them just a few days back.

Anyone know the whereabouts of this?

    The temp sensor is located in front of the AC condenser behind the bumper. Lower left side near where the AC compressor pipe connecdts to it. You will have to remove the plastic cover (1 bolt on each side) to see it. There should be a little bracket that it mounts to. If the car didn't have it from the factory the wiring may be tied up in the harness someplace above there. You may be able to see it from front below the leeft horn, but not sure.

    Look around under the bumper on the drivers side. Pretty sure that's where mine is. Actually might be more under the battery, but in that gerneral vicinity. Flat on your back and look up. I'm sure someone will post a more definitive answer for you. Good luck.

    Can't help on the temp sensor connector, but I was wondering where you got your trip computer.

      I happened to get mine from one of the local Volvo boneyards, Strandberg Auto in Centuria, WI. They sent me the switch, wiring harness, and a replacement unit to put where the clock was. Not too bad of an install, either, following the instructions from Bay13. It was a good opportunity to replace the light bulbs illuminating the instrumentation as well.
