Turbo air duct XC90 2004

Has anyone else had the turbo discharge tube split open and disable the vehicle?
There is an upgrade available and the dealer is replacing when serviced.
This happened under full acceleration and the car won't run when split. Duct tape would have easly fixed this to get you to the deaoler.

    Yes - after 3 weeks of ownership I had the same problem. The car suddenly died twice. The dealership replaced the part and I have not experienced the problem again. Seems like a safety hazard though. Surprised they haven't issued a recall.

      I had the same problem about 3 weeks after I bought the car. I was demo-ing the car for friends and it died in the middle of the intersection...almost got t-boned
      i was PISSED and had to use the road side service - they claimed "never happened before" now I read that others have it :(...they should recall this...

      one question, does the fix (a new intake) fix the turbo whine ??) that people are talking about here http://www.volvospy.com/frameset.php?bn=volvospy_xc90

        yes it does fix the whine problem
