Gentlemen,
I was wondering if a third seat from a 740 or 940 wagon, (they are the same)will fit in an 850 Wagon or V70?

I really doubt it. The 700/900 series third seats are huge in comparison to the 850's. My 855t has the third seat and it amounts to a couple of pads and seatbacks plus the belt hardware. The 850 is a much smaller car and you'd be hard pressed to even carry a 700/900 series third seat in it's rear compartment.

That said, anything's possible and I'm sure someone could make the necessary modifications but it wouldn't be pretty.
