service light reset? S70 1998

Hi all,
Well I have had the 60K service done, around 55K, and now at 60K the "SERVICE" light has come on. Says in the owners manual that it comes on every 5000 miles and the servicing retailer has to reset it. I'm doing my own maintenance now, is there a simple way to reset the service light? [I'm not talkin about the check engine light.]
Thanks,
Bob

If it BOTHERS you (it should go off after 2 minutes, anyway)....

There are two possible solutions for 1996-1998 Volvos.

The cheap (and easy) solution: Go to Home Depot. Buy a roll of 3M black electrical tape. Cut a square of tape and place it over the light.

The expensive solution: Buy the service reminder light reset tool for $150.

(I have the 3M tape over mine!)

You are SOL with the 1998 model. Pull the breaker, or pull the bulb.

I have the answer! Here is the procedure, as far as i know it works on my 2000 s70 and my friend's 99 s70. here it is:
To reset the service reminder indicator (SRI)carry out the procedure as following:
      Ignition off
Press and hold in the trip odometer reset button
      swithch on ignition
Continue pressing in the reset button for 10 seconds until SRI starts flashing
release reset button within 4 seconds.
      take key out
      and u r done!
