Difficult starting from cold - any suggestions? 850

Hi

I am having difficulty in starting my car in the mornings - I get up at 3.am to go and deliver milk so early cold starts are everyday.

It take two or three times cranking before it catches. I have replaced plugs, leads, cap/rotor, and fuel filter.

Could it be fuel pressure needs time to biuld up?

Has the fuel filter been changed recently? If it is getting plugged up it might take longer to build up correct fuel pressure.

Also, what engine oil weight are you running? Is it appropriate to your climate per the manual?

Hows the battery doing? Maybe that the culprit. If its a couple of years old, it may be close to dying. I'm not sure if thats a problem but I'm just giving you an idea of what it may be.

do you let the fuel pump stop before you start the car? This may allow pressure build up in the fuel system for easier starts. Maybe the fuel pump is going out.

Thanks

The battery is 4 months old, and I am suspecting the fuel pump is below standard - how do I test it?
