power seat stuck, micro switch? 850 1996

This weekend the driver's seat suddenly did not respond to pushing any of the buttons. No motor sounds at all, no previous problems. Many connectors are visible from the front of the seat, all seem fine. There doesn't seem to be a fuse for power seats (?). What else should I check?

I saw this thread, looks promising:

does anyone know where this spring and switch are located?

Thanks for any help.

The spring/microswitch problem only applys to C-70. The 4 door cars do not require it. Most common failure is the control switch assembly.

Can I go at it with a multimeter? Any airbag concerns down there? I'll have to get out the Haynes. Do I have to take off the leather or are you talking about the modules I see under the seat? Sorry to be so dim, haven't seen a description of which is heater, which is adjuster.

Thanks for any help -
