Turning Off Daytime Running Lights

1995 850 Turbo Wagin: In my previous post, Pedro said there was a screw on the headlight switch that when turned will turn off the daytime running lights. I found that screw but it doesn't seem to do anything. It seems to be spring loaded, so I pushed it all the way in and turned left and right but it did not turn off the lights. Switch was in the off position, lights were on when I was doing this, key in position II, car not running. Is this some sort of trick to turn off the daytime running lights?

'95 855T owners manual, page 1:8 - PAragraph C, has the detail on turning running lights on and off. There doesn't seem to be any tricks involved, but only one of the three screw positions actually turns them off all of the time (angled from top left to bottom right).

No real trick that I recall (and I've done it twice). I do
believe it is actually in the owners manual which might have more
details.

Nothing in the book, just checked. Anybody else know how to turn off the daytime running lights?

It was in the manual for my 96 854T5. Real easy too.
