93 850 tranny interchange? 850

I have a bad tranny in my 93 850. A friend offered me one from a 96 850. I am curious for a definative answer on whether it would fit or not.

No. Trany from 96 car has no VSS speed sensor your speedo will not work abs light will be on/ trany computer have to be replaced/ trany cooler lines are different.

Hi,

a. I replaced my 1993 engine with a 1997 engine and the AT and engine fitted together just fine. I had been told that the transmissions are the same through the range so you should have no trouble. I would make sure I got the computer that goes with the gearbox as there were lots of revisions between 1993 and later.
