No Power to CD 850 1994

The original CD died and I got one from a reputable party on eBay. Connected the wires that were there for the old one now there is no juice to the new unit according to my knowledgeable Volvo mech. I am a mechanical and electonics moron so any simple help would be welcome.

This may be irrelevant, however, when a new CD unit (Alpine) was installed in my brick, there was no power to the CD (radio and cassette were fine). Unfortunately, since the reset took 2 hours to disengage, the stereo shop couldn't test it before time to close. I brought the car back the following day, and the fix was a switch at the rear of the unit. Took less than two minutes to change.

I find no switch on the changer...is that what you mean? A friend of my son just crimped the wires together green to green and brown to brown. Where is this famous fuse anyway?

My first reaction would be that if the old unit had power, and now there is no power at the flylead, then an inline fuse may have blown.

I had the same problem I have a wagon, and I followed the power line to just
under the driver side rear lights where the in line fuse is, which was blown.
