clunk on take-off S80

When I stop at a light and then take-off, there is a subtle, single clunk under the left front end. Has anyone experienced this?
thanks

    Ivan;

    Based on my clunks on my 2000 S80, I think the dealer will be able to diagnose it and replace the faulty part.

      Thanks Rich
      But I have 107,000 miles on the car and I try to avoid my dealers. I'd rather have an idea of what the problem is and talk to inde-shop guys before spending money at the dealers.

        Based on the two items that they replaced on my car I think that an independent Volvo shop would have no trouble (in that there would be no electronics to reset/download) diagnosing and repairing. There are Service Report notices out on some of the chronic S80 clunking disorders. Alldata.com has some and maybe cars.com may list some.

          your clunking sounds similar to mine, and i know mine is caused by the subframe. there is a little play between the subframe and the connection to the undercarriage. a simple o-ring between the two solves the problem.

          it's mostly noticeable on the floor board and i can sometimes hear it (and feel it) on take off or cornering.

          there is a TSB on this issue, just check out alldata.com

          VADIS shows a detailed description on the procedure.

          hope this helps,
          Al
