I have about 2500 miles to go until 120,000 miles. Am I due for a timing belt change? If not, what are the timing belt change mileages for a 1997 855 GLT?

I had mine done @ 60k and 120k. I suggest having it done every 60k, the cost of replacing the belt is far less than a rebuild. The 850 has interfering valves, meaning the valves reach down past the top of the pistons, if your t-belt goes, your engine is toast.

recommended interval for your year model is 70K miles.

If the t-belt was changed at 70K miles by previous owner, there should be a sticker on the t-belt cover with a date and mileage when done.

If it hasn't been done, then schedule an appmt ASAP with your dealer as you're driving on borrowed time.

No sticker if it was changed by an independent mechanic. I know mine was done because I had it changed, but they don't place any stickers.

they shouild IF they fit a volvo belt...they come in the packet...and I wouldnt have anythign BUT a volvo belt...in my book no sticker = no belt
