platinum spark plug for T6 S80 2001

I just replaced the spark plugs in my 2001 T6, from volvo oem to NGK platinum. the car ran fine, but i noticed a drop in MPG according to the OBC. from 23mpg to 20 mpg. is this expected? I always though the platinum plugs should give me better gas mileage. something went wrong maybe? what should I check for?

not 2 sure about the t6, but this has been discussed with respects to the t5.

apparently the car doen't like platinum plugs and misfires slightly. Ppl from this and other boards reccomend to stay with OEM parts or the bosh alternative (copper)
