Zimmerman Cross Drilled Question 850

Question on brake rotors...

Anyone out there try the Zimmerman cross drilled rotors? Is it worth the extra $22 per disc? Any warping problems? Otherwise, I'm just going to get the regular Zimmermans when it's time. My current brakes seem warped (lots of feedback in the steering wheel). I fixed it a little by taking the lugs off and re-torquing them, but the warp seems to be resurfacing. The current brakke rotors have ~70K miles on them. Also, I think one of the e-brakes is hosed. Fun fun.

    Zimmerman Cross Drilled Question 850

I love my Zimmerman cross drilled rotors. I know its wrong, but I'm weak. No warps or squeals, lotsa stopping power.

    Zimmerman Cross Drilled Question 850

Cross drilled Zimmermans are a little noisy.

I have two sets of rotors for my 98 V70, cross drilled and non-cross drilled.
I can only get about 6 months of use out of them before vibration, due to warping is an issue.

I originally had the OEM, then I got Brembo, a year later I got cross drilled Zimmies and gave away the Brembo's, they got noisy (not squeaking, squealing or grinding, difficult to describe the noise of a warped rotor with vents).
I purchased a second set with no vents and installed, they lasted 6 months and I resurfaced the cross drilled and re-installed about 2 months ago.
I have the non-vented rotors resurfaced and on the shelf waiting for their turn.

Before I get scalded, Yes, I do torque the wheels with a real torque.
No, I don't remove half of the rotor thikness.
Volvo rotors should not be turned? Do whatever works for you.
