Changing the PCV valve on 850? 850

My Volvo Dealer said it's required for 90k service, is it an easy Do-it-yourself? Any links for instructions?

Thanks.

Very simple - and the part is a 'flame trap' not PVC, although function is the same.

Here is link with some pictures, just be careful twisting off connector - I broke my throttle body (only a $20 part) when I twisted too hard my first try. (use #1015 for duct tape - repair throttle body to go to dealer for replacement)

You might also search the archives on flame traps, some say not needed, but I change mine when I change spark plugs - about every 30k miles. Clogged flame trap can cause oil seal failure as excess pressure builds!

Hey thanks! That was the reason I couldn't find info on the PVC as my dealer called it, makes sense being the Flame Trap. What do you use to clean the throttle body with? Is it just with a rag and cleaner?

Sorry for all the questions.

Thanks again!

you just need to use engine degreaser, tooth brush, and a cloth. It should shine up like new. (Gunk or grease lightening degreaser works well).
