Shake it up.

I've noticed something strange (big surprise) with my '98 S70.

The headlight beam seems to flicker or shake when reflected from road signs either to the side or overhead. The weird thing is that I detect no flicker from the road surface, even if it is wet.

I am using Philips VisionPlus and E-code lenses. I've checked the mounts and the reflectors and everything seems to be secured.

What gives?

Thanks,

Bryan

Shake it up.

I was going to suggest that you open up the lamps and look inside but you've already done that....

I have HIDs on my "new" car and it's really obvious on that. There is a very distinct cutoff and it can be disturbing, especially going over undulating road surfaces. (If I were prone to seasickness...well, the car's interior would no longer be pristeen!)

The e-codes on my V70 are "fuzzier" than the HIDs but I can see where the cutoff would still be more noticeable than the DOT lenses.

Shake it up.

Groundhog,

Makes sense.

The E-codes have a very distinct horizontal cut-off. That light line acts like a level.

The shake IS most obvious on bumpy road when there is no ambient lighting.

BTW what is your "new" car?

Thanks,

Bryan
