Depends on how you drive. I drive about 90% highway and am
now seeing 25.4 over many tanks. When it was more like
60% highway it was about 21 mpg.

My wife has a 1995 855 and I have a 98 S70 T5 and her numbers
are about the same.

For family vacation (2 adults, 2 kids and luggage) they both
get about 27 mph on the highway.

Your milage sounds OK if it is a mix of city and highway.

I guess my 95 turbo is a looser. I was happy when my computer said 22 for local errands. About 25 on the highway, loaded with 3 people and the cruise set at 76.

Hi aa

What were you getting before you changed the belts??

I get 31mpg on a run and 24 around town average around 27 - 28 mpg.

I have heard and read that if one tooth of the timing belt is out causing the timing of the camshafts to be out this can increase your fuel usage.

Hope this helps

I've got a 97 GLT with 80,000 miles. Just took a trip and it averaged 31.2 mpg, all highway miles. When highway and city driving are combined, I think it usually averages out to 25.7 mpg. I don't do a great deal of city driving.

All of the above is based on what the trip computer tells me.

C,mon guys,
You should know better than that. Mileage is purely a function of consumption and weight. The more load, the more work your card does and subsequently the more gas it draws out. Then the Consumption itself greatly varies based on driving habits- and I dont mean City/Hwy. I used to have a bimmer with those computer/ gas gauges that quickly taught me those laws of physics. When I drive around running late gunning the gas and braking, consumption shoots up, When I mellow out 60-70, the gauge barely moves!
I suggest keep your tranny set to Econ versus sport- I know its tempting sometimes, but that way you get the most fuel efficiency and just follow common sense rules of driving and you'll increase mileage significantly. Having a tuned car, tires inflated etc. etc. helps too.

My 95 850 Turbo with 98k miles gets around 20mpg city; a bit more on the highway. I experimented driving sport vs. econ mode over several months and found there was no difference at all in the mpg. And what sense does it make to get a turbo car only to drive in econ mode? I paid all that extra money for the sportiness - there's no way I want to hold her back by driving in econ mode!

I get 20 around town, 30 on the highway. Around town is short trips in v. heavy traffic. Lots of stop/start and idling around, running AC the whole time.
