Blue smoke from my V70 V70-XC70 1998

I'm getting a large puff of blue smoke out the exhaust pipe when I start the car in the morning or after having been parked for several hours. It also is occuring when I take off after having idled at a stop light for several minutes. I don't observe any smoke upon rapid acceleration or deceleration after the initial puff. It is beginning to use oil. Is this likely a turbo? Any other ideas?

Blue smoke from my V70 V70-XC70 1998

I havnet had a LARGE puff of blue smoke come out of my car, but when i start the car in the morning (it hasn`t been used for 10 - 12 hours) the color is kind of blue-ish. When the engine is warm, there is no colour. I can`t figure this out either. (It`s an 98-mod V70 2.0T Automatic, well kept)

Valve seals? V70-XC70 1998

Sounds very much like valve seals which would be unusual for that engine if properly maintained.

Might be valve guides.
