Delco vs Volvo OEM - Neutral Safety Switch (PNP) 850

Hi- I wondered if there is any reason not to go for the Delco PNP switch rather than the Volvo named one... The Delco is less than half the price of the Volvo for about $48. What do you think? Marcia in Seattle, 1993 850 with 174,540 PS: I'm replacing this myself and also flushing the transmission fluid. I'm new to the mechanics thing...

Given the age and mileage of your car, Delco parts should do fine. Delco makes horrible radios, but GM (Delco) engine electronics are pretty darn good and reliable from my experience.

I didn't know Delco made the part. It should be fine. Where did you get it at?

Autozone sells a PNP switch (they call it neutral safety switch) for about $48 and is made in Japan, and I've read that looks identical to the volvo one.

The Delco one made by GM should be just fine. Let us know how it works.

Hi John - This is where I found the PNP switch. They seem to have good prices but like I mentioned, I'm new to this! Thanks for your suggestions. Marcia in Seattle
