Weak A/C V70-XC70 2001

Every summer I return to the Volvo dealer to have the A/C worked on.
The first summer it was recharged, last year and this year the expansion valve was replaced (including last week). Tomorrow I return with the A/C blowing air that is not cold.
Any thoughts beyond recharging and expansion valves. I feel tat the dealer may be sidestepping higher cost components (condensers, compressors).

The A/C is now corrected. The dealer's service department found a technical bulleting to bypass a switch that modulates the compressor and now the compressor is wired directly so it will not cut out, so I've been told.
Anyway It's working for now and the temps. in North Carolina are rising.
I'm happy while the car stays cool.
Another interesting point is the A/C outlet temp is 45 deg. F. My other car, a Nissan puts out 37.5 deg. F. air at the outlet.

What is the TSB number? Was it a high pressure cutoff switch that was bypassed?

I have a feeling they are attempting to wait on your evaporator until your warranty expires. The dealer here does it all the time. It may be wiser to have it diagnosed, and the leak found, by an independent.

      why Chris ?
do they get paid less by corp for work done on the warranty ? different pricing on parts under warranty, as well ?
do they get 'browny points' from the corp for 'pushing' the problems away, until warranty runs out ?
I have experinced similar approaches by the dealer on other issues ?
      best regards.
ps your posts are always quite informative and helpful

Yes, warranty pays less. You have warranty labor time, and you have customer pay labor time. Warranty also pays less for the part.
