I bought a '95 850 about two months ago. The spare that came in the trunk is a 740 alloy wheel. Comparing it to the 850, it seems to me that it would fit on the rear, but certainly not the front of the 850 with it's sliding caliper.

Will a 740 wheel fit on the rear of an 850?

Also, I'm in the market for four 850 wheels so I have an extra set for the winter months. I'm looking for reasonably priced. I'd love to talk if you have a set you want rid of, or if you know of somewhere that sells them at a good price.

While the wheel will bolt on, I suspect that it will interfere with the wheel well because of its offset

Here in Massachusetts there is a healthy market of used steel wheels with worn snow tires on them. Believe it or not, some people sell/trade their bricks without even thinking of the set of off-season wheels in their garage. I have purchased about 5 sets that way, some with new snow tires.

I met a doctor that was selling a 745 with steel wheels and snow tires on it. I asked him about his alloy wheels, and he did not know what happened to them when he had his snow tires put on!!!

i've seen new fwd rims fit older rwd cars...but not the other way around...

I think the offset is different tweent he two cars. Even if it will fit, alingment may be affected.

I have 4 black steelies from '95 850 GLT, which had Michelin Alpins, since used on other vehicle. Wheels are 15", and do not fit my '04 S80, so are available for sale. They are in cardboard in garage, and very clean. I paid $60 per wheel, will sell set of 4 for $160. Boston, MA area.
