a/c blower motor not working on 4th speed 850

We have a 1996 Volvo 850 (149k miles) whose a/c blower motor quit working on the 4th setting. It is a manual system. We have checked the fuses and they are fine. Have read posts that say the resistor could be bad - will that cause just one speed to quit working? Thanks!

Hi Shirley,

There is a seperate fuse for the fourth speed of the blower. This may be what the problem is. Check the fuse box.

If the 4th setting is wide open, there is no resistor. I have read that there are two relays behind the glove box, one for the lower speeds and the other for wide open. I'd do a search for more info cuz it soundz like the relay.
