Alarm Failure? S60

I just took delivery of a new base model 2004 S60 a few days ago. I have put a few hundred miles on it and have been very pleased with the break-in, only complaint with driveability is a slight vibration up front and slight tug to the right under high speeds, possibly wheel balance and/or alignment.

Yesterday I discovered another gremlin which I am slightly concerned about. When locking the car with the remote the turn signals would flash once to indicate the car alarm was armed and functioning. Since yesterday the lights do not flash when the doors are locked though the red led in the dash does come on and flash at one second intervals. I imagine the alarm is working but am concerned that the notification is no longer working...is there a way I may have inadvertantly disabled this feature from pressing a bitton in the cabin? Any advice or help will be appreciated.

It is the hood contact. Had this before on my MY 2001 S60: Opwn the hood and let the hood fall down the last 15 cm and likely the contact works well again.

Take your car back to the dealer as soon as possible to fix the vibration. My old departed SAAB had a wheel slightly out of bal and the vibration caused the radiator to crack loose (after warranty, of course).

The missing flash indicates that something is unlatched. Reclose all doors, trunk and hood.

      Larry:

Thank you for your post...I double checked all the doors, hood and trunk like you suggested and everything works as before...must have been the hood as I had checked the oil the morning that the problem started...looked like it was closed but obviously not enough for the alarm.

      My thanks again
