V70/S70 Timing Belt questions

Hi everyone,

I have done research on this topic of Timing Belt and see if everyone agrees with me.

I just opened the TB cover, I have the hydraulic tensioner.

Looking at the layout, there are 2 pulleys, one in the front, and another one in the rear that is pushed up by the tensioner.

Questions:

1. INTERVAL 60K vs 80K
I will change the TB at 60K, at the same time will change the drivebelt. Better overdo than sorry (Owner's Manual says TB change at 80K, but my driving has been mostly city, so I decided to "overkill").
Does everyone think 60K is "overkill"?
Also my car is 1998 so the TB is 6 years old.


2. TENSIONER AND/OR PULLEY
I saw alot of stories on tensioner failure trashing the engine head with it. I plan to change the tensioner anyway (sleep better at night!). The question is: do I ALSO need to change the pulley?
Do I need to chnge both pulleys?
Is there a way to grease the pulley (like greasing a wheelbearing to keep it going a long time)

From your experience, how long do these pulleys last?
