Tranny 850

I have a 94 '850 with 174000 miles and the tranny is starting to sing to me .
It drives fine, but the higher the RPM's the louder it gets .

I've heard stories of transmission troubles mean replacing with a rebuilt .

My question is-
Am I better off running it until the tranny dies because it will end up costing me the same.
or
Have it checked out for something simple .
Fluid changed last year and no leaks .
Thanks.

I would flush it again, only because there is no filter. A shop should do that for $120. Then start pricing a 1997 transmission, it is better than a 94.

that usually happens to torque converters Soon it will start to slip and then no power transfer at all . I only have a 740 and it hissed for a month the totally gone after that
    Hope that helped
Plus any tranny can be rebuilt however if the tranny pump goes bad the there is no use because the lack of lubrication burns everything. So then your best bet it to buy used and recondition the used one.
    Good luck
    Matt
