Question about TRACS (traction control) V70-XC70

I am just wondering: I have a '98 V70 awd and it has a switch that shuts off the traction control system. I am wondering why such a switch exists; is there ever a time or driving situation where I would want traction control to be off or disengaged? Thanks

Question about TRACS (traction control) V70-XC70

For those of us who like to occasionally like to drive fast and hard on twisty windy roads, we will turn it off so we can make the car "drift" into and out of turns.
