problems removing ecu codes 850 1993

I recently had my engine swapped (yeah i'm an idiot and the timing belt blew) and now having problems pulling error codes off the ECU ODB(or whatever the name is). The probe LED will light but no materr what socket I place it into it won't pull any codes or how long I hold down the button. Is there a relay or something I should check? Thanks,

Erik

You either have swapped wires or one not plugged in correctly.

thats what I figure, but I've been checking all connections and seem to be fine (I had a reversed vaccum line -- see previous post) but anywhere in particular you can think of? A relay wouldn't foul it up would it?

Thanks,

Erik
