Radio swap and amplifier install 850 1994

Hello,

I would like to know if there are RCA outputs in the back of an stock 850 turbo 94 for me to install an amplifier???

Also I would like to know if I am better off swapping the stock radio for an aftermarket radio???

Thank you for your help!

Hey Bob, that adapter can be bought at any walmart, Best-buys, or circut City for 15-20 dollars. As a last resort you could go to a professional installer and ask them to order you one. That sony should sound WAY better then the factory. I myself use an old '97 Kenwood with infinity/ JL speakers and I did the labor myself. Oh by the way, when you do switch out door/ rear panel speakers, remember the dash are wired as tweters and teh doors are midbass. I learned that the hard way, by putting coaxial speakers in the dash and they didnt sound right. Have fun and enjoy your install.

    mis -read that

anyway and always it will make a difference. even if you dont change the speakers right away changing the stock Head unit makes a huge difference.

    1. Nope.
    2. Depends on what you are trying to accomplish and which head unit you have and how big is your budget. Ya know? If small budget or modest goals, get an amp with speaker level inputs, else buy new stuff.

if you have a aftermarket {sony} headunit, then there shouldnt be a problem. it should have at least one set of pre-outs. and if not, then just get a line level converter. they are like 20 bux. Go with the more expensive one then the ten dollar type though. better quality= less b/s . a line level converter is just an adapter, your + and - wire connect to two wires on the converter and then it goes right to a rca. just go into your local car audio store and they can hook you up. they are not hard to install either. literally just soldiring the wires together.

          Alright thanks for the help...

but my main concern is the wiring of my head unit... I was told that it was very tricky...

I was wondering if anyone had a wiring design or map ... (whatever its called) to guide me... I thought it would be like any other car but apparently its a little harder???

          Thanks again,

save yourself. and possibly any other owners of the car a hassle and just go spend the 20 bux for the adapter. it has two different ends, on, that matches your cars factory plugs and then goes into a "universal " plug for all aftermarket headunits.
