1995 850 hazard lights stay on

Please help! My '95 850 had a dead battery, so we jumped it off. It started but the hazard lights now stay on, even when the key is not in the ignition. We took the fuse out to keep the battery from dying again. Any suggestions on how the make the hazard lights go out? (Blinkers won't work until we get them to go out.) We've already tried locking and unlocking the driver's door with the key. Thanks!

    you tripped the alarm.

    Youneed to arm and disarm the system with the key at the drivers door.

      We tried this and it didn't work. That's what my mechanic told me to do. Would the keyless entry disarm it? My son has the car right now but will be home shortly and we will try with the key again. Thanks!

        Try the remote. If that fails, then try the lock/unlock feature of the door switch. If that fails, disconnect battery for 10 min and go thru the motions again.

          I took my car to the Volvo dealer today and the hazard light relay switch had shorted out on it. This was causing my hazard lights to stay on. Expensive to replace..they said it was $140.00, but I have to have it because the blinkers weren't working either. Thanks for all the input.

    Did you try pushing the red triangle on the dash?

      Yeah. We turned it off and on several times with no luck. I called my Volvo mechanic and he's the one that told me to lock and unlock door with key. I guess I'll take it to him if we can't figure it out.
