Help.

The gas door hinge just broke. I opened the gas filler door and it just came off in my hand. Looks like the plastic part on the body broke. The spring is still attached to the door.

Were can I get an new plactic part and how does one get the old part off the car?

Will I have any trouble putting the spring back in the new plactic part?

volvo p/n 30649879 about $15 and some change. Drive out the old pins (there are 4 of them) with a small screwdriver (phillips will do) or a small center punch. Line up pins on new hinge, press them in flush with the rest of the hinge and there you go. I am not sure how to do the spring. It slides in there somehow. They break all of the time. It might be even covered under your new car warranty (4 yrs/50K) from retail date.

There was no warranty when my '01 S60 fuel filler door fell off.
However the gas station where it happened refunded the $35 for having the dealer replace it. Does anyone know if there is a TSB on this?
