flame trap material 850 1994

I bought a flame trap housing which said it did not include a flame trap so I also ordered a metal one. The housing came with a plastic one, so now I have both. The brass one seems like it would have higher flow, any advantage to either? It had a plastic one in it.

The old design was brass and replaced with plastic. The plastic ones hold up better and don't corrode. Use the plastic type.

Yea, use the plastic one. The brass seems to corrode, clog up and fall apart very quickly. I had the brass type on an old 240 and opened it up to clean it. What a mess. Just a ball of oil and brass fragments.
