Rear Parking light replacement?

HELP! I need to replace a rear parking light.

I read the owners manual and did everything it says. I see no way to get to the bulb. Is there a bulb for the parking light?

I took out the main bulb (brake light and rear light. It's good.

I see a connection (which I took out just above the break light. But I see no
bulb behind it. HELP.

Thanks Terry

      To; Not an English teacher,

      Are you breaking chops?
How about giving us a break.
      Collision- Something breaks while braking.

      Rear Parking light replacement?

      TO CVolvo.com

      Thanks, This is a 2001 V70XC.

I live in Missoula, Montana not a good place to own a Volvo.

I took the tail light out, the top bulb you can take out with your fingers. The one with the light gray holder. I changer them from one side to the other to see if that was the bulb. It was not. It's good.

The when looking at the car, the bulb I need to replace is the parking light per the diagram in the owners manual. However there is no way I can see to get to it (or several other bulbs in the back tailight assemblyl.

Any help you can give would be appriciated.

      Thanks, Terry Johnson

Seems to me that there are three mostly red bulbs there. To get the top one you have to remove the speaker. The grill pops off, then there is some sort of cryptic pull tab that allows the speaker to hang out on the wires. Find a very small contortionist with kevlar gloves to reach through the hole to fish out the light. Really. It isn't that bad....

          Rear Parking light replacement?

Thanks, However I checked out that light. That is not the one.

The light is just below that light.

It's the oddest thing I have ever seen in auto design. there are two or three other lights besides the ones you have access to through the speaker and the lower access panel. God knows how you get to those lights.

The owners handbooks lists 5 lights under each tail light lens.
          1. Rear turn signals
          2. Brake light
          3. Rear parking light<<<<<
          4. Rear fog light (left side only)
          5. Backup light

I'm trying to get to #3 light---Rear parking light on the right side.

I get a message on the dash saying position light out.

FOUND IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOD WHAT A DESIGN. I DIDN'T KNOW THAT VOLVO HAD MUNCHKINS WORKING FOR THEM.

Time to sell this car. Too bad. Good car. However when you can't get a tail light bulb at walmart, checker, or champion and none of them have it in their warehouse, you know your licked!

Thanks to all. I have to go now. The firemen are here to try to get my hand out of the bulb access area!

I agree. I am a dealer tech, and when I have to change a brake light bulb, I call someone with small hands and big muscles. I CAN'T access the brake bulbs.

I,m glad I found it. Thanks to everyone who helped with this problem.

Now I can sell this car with all the lights working.

That was the last straw. Volvos are great cars, if you like to drive a car that no one can work on, that there are no parts for (except in big big cities) and that you can't get to the parts to repair the problem when and if you are lucky enough to get a part!

Anyone intereted I have a 2001 V70XC with 71,000 on it in very good shape. All the lights work too. $675.00 worth of new Michelin tires.m Metallic blue with ALL the options. Cold weather package. Perfect shape. $22,000

              Contact Terry at aethelredII@aol.com

              Thanks again. TJ
