EEEE on Radio Display 850 1995

While driving my CD player suddenly stops, the speakers pop, then on the display it says "EEEE." I called Volvo and they were of no help to me, so I want to know what does this error code mean? Or is my CD changer in the back dead... Thanks For your help.

Chris

I had the same error code. The inline fuse was out. I did it by jump starting my car with the cd player on. The fuse is a little tricky to get to (under the changer in the trunk - you have to remove the changer to get to it) but I bet if you replace the fuse it will work like new. I got the replacement fuse at radioshack.

    Good luck-

    Rick

When I got that error message it was the in-line fuse holder to the CD played, the tabs that holds the fuse holder top on had broken off. I taped it up and all is working fine I have a replacement fuse holder for it, I think I will change it out tomorrow if I remember.

If you had an interuption of power to your radio, you need to enter your four digit security code which should have been given to your when you bought the car. It is installed in your Volvo to discourage theft. If you do not have this code, your radio is useless, unless you contact your volvo service person who will then have to get in touch with Volvo NA using your Vehicle Identification Number VIN as a reference.
