Trouble with computer system S80 1999

I am confronting problems with a number of features related to the car's computer system. These features are non-operational since last Thursday. The signal given was somethinglike re-start but I could not re-start at that time:

1. Directional lights
2. Radio controls on the steering wheel
3. Cruise control
4. Intermittent/speed of windshield wipers

These features are all controlled from the steering wheel. I was informed that there is a fuse one removes and re-installs to fix all of these problems....but I was not informed which fuse needs removal & re-installation.

Could someone tell me what fuse I need to look for???

Thank you,

Chunky

I've had the exact same problem you describe, and the advice given about the removal/reinstallation of the fuse has corrected it. The fuse is located inside the driver's side door on the dashboard. Like the previous respose, I believe the number of the fuse to be twenty-three. Just pull it out, wait a couple of seconds and reinsert it. The problem should alleviate itself.

I just had the same problem while on vacation. I lost the steering wheel controls, turn signals, trip computer and the high beams. I tried the fuses and I ended up taking it to a Volvo dealer while still on vaction and they replaced the entire turn signal/trip computer stick on the left side of the steering wheel. It cost me $270.oo for the part and the software upgrade.

In the fuse panel behind the cover at the left side of the instrument panel, look for a 5 Amp fuse labeled SWM - steering wheel module. On my car it is fuse 23 but yours might be in a different position (year-to-year changes).

I've never had that particular problem on a 99 S80. Guess that's one to look forward to. However, I have cleared up numerous glitches by removing and replacing all of the fuses in the RR trunk panel. There are no service bulletins or tech tips explaining which fuse to pull, but when I was having a problem with an irritating lock problem, my contact at Volvo told me to pull all those fuses. He said "one" of the fuses is what resets it, but he didn't know which one.
