240 Virgo rims on an 850 850

Hello all,

I have a set of 5 spoke virgo rims from an early 1980's 242 ti that I want to install on a 1997 850. Can this be done? Are the bolt patterns the same?

Thanks for the help ahead of time.

The offset of the 240 wheels is 25 whereas the offset of the 850 wheels is 43, if memory serves. The bolt pattern is the same. The substantial difference in offset will change your suspension geometry and, who knows, might make your car dangerous.

I just sold a set of 740 wheels (same 25 offset) to buy S80 wheels (same 43 offset) to put on my S70. Ended up with the right wheels for an additional expense of EUR 5 (about $6)...

The offset for RWD and FWD are different. I'm not familiar with the 240 Virgo rim, but I would bet the offset will place the wheel too far out into the wheel well. The bolt pattern is the same, so if you already have the Virgo wheel, you can try it. I tried the same thing with a set of IPD Evolution wheels from my 240. They bolt on, but stick waaayyy out.

    Good Luck!
