UPDATE: Dealer Can't Fix My Car S70

Well,

The "dealer" still couldn't fix me car (the (98 S70). They are now saying that they did everything they could and out of the goodness of their hearts decided not to charge me again. Thanks!

They now claim the noise is coming from the body of the car, but the car hasn't been in any accident. They are saying that the body panels of the car are actualyl flexing and causing this noise. Does this sound right? I didn't know that Volvos started to make body noise this early. I've never heard of this happening to any other car.

Gah... Help!

Levi

UPDATE: Dealer Can't Fix My Car S70

I had a rattle that seemed to be coming from the front of the car, turned out to be a hood retaining clamp slightly out of adjustment. There are two "claw style" clamps that hold the hood closed; if they aren't adjusted properly the hood will make an irritating rattle when driving at low speeds. Worth a try?

UPDATE: Dealer Can't Fix My Car S70

Levi, is this the brick that you mentioned in February?

If so, how do you know that it never was in an accident?

We have a rattle in the right side of our '90 744 TI, is sounds like it is coming from the rocker panel. It has not changed in 6 years, and I have not been able to find it.

Did you try driving it with the plastic pan under the engine removed (if you have one)?

UPDATE: Dealer Can't Fix My Car S70

This qualifies under the lemon law!!!!

you should see what your legal rights are. Maybe you can have Volvo take the car back. I am thinking you have gone more than 3 times for the same problem and they have not been able to properly diagnose or repair the problem??

Just a suggestion. If your car is still under the original manufacturers warranty you can claim the lemon law

No lemon S70

"This qualifies under the lemon law!!!"

Wrong!
One can only file for lemon law with a new car within its first year, not older cars.
