Hi,
I'm a newbie and this is my first forum, so be kind.
I just bought my new S80 2.5T AWD, 208 hp., Turbo in June. At about the 400 mile mark I was driving along (aprox. 35 mph) and thought I blew out the two back tires,(extreme thumping coming from the rear of the car, thought it was going to shake my teeth out) pulled off the road and there was nothing wrong with the tires. Started the car up and it drove fine after that. About two weeks later it did the same thing to my husband as he was driving. I told him to stop the car and when he restarted it was fine again. I took it to the Volvo dealership and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. It didn't code, there were no indicator lights that came on either. Driving home from taking my daughter to college it did it again on Aug. 20th. This time it was on a major highway and my husband was driving and we were going about 70 mph. We worked our way over to the side of the road and I checked to see if any indicator lights were on (no) and told him to let it idle, turn off and restart and it drove home fine after that. Now it is back at the dealership for the second time and they still can't find anything wrong with it.
The best I can describe it is: it comes on gradually but once it starts it comes on fast, feels like you blew out both back tires, extreme vibration, thumping, shaking. I am afraid it is really going to screw up the car and cause an accident. If you were on the passing lane of a major highway and it would take you awhile to pull off I think it would catch on fire. It really smells hot.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated (besides painting it yellow).
Thanks
