I have a 95 850 turbo wagon. I have had problems with the door dinger going off over even the slightest bump. It seemed as though the doors were shut securely. Now I can hear some air around the driver's door. I tightend the bolts on the center arm of the door hinge. It did not help. Is there another part of the hinge that I should work with or maybe the latch?

The switch is right at the bottom of the door locking mechanism, a piece of black plastic. If the door is not closing all of the way, it could leave the switch loose. To check it, start the car or just put the key in position II and see if the lights go out and the chime stops when you push the black plastic up and towards the outside door handle. It is possible that the switch itself is bad or a wire came loose.

On my old(er) Volvo a wire somehow got crossed and everytime I put the brakes on the door dinger went off--it took me some time to figure that out! Are you sure it is the door itself?

No I am not sure, but I have not noticed anything consistently causing it except bumps and fast acceleration. Any other ideas would be great!
