Air conditioner S70 1998

my '98 s70 when car is parked under the shade, A/C starts with no problem and goes on as long as the engine is running.However, if the car was parked under the hot sun, the A/C will not start at all. This pattern has been consistent for a month. Has anyone experienced or has a suggestion?

    I have read some post about a sun sensor on the dash that calls for extra AC if the sun is on the front window.

    If you spy a sensor, maybe you could cover it when you park in the sun.

    Have you tried running the fan with the windows open for a while before you turn on the AC?

    BTW - Do you shut the AC off before you end your trip?
