Unattached vacuum line? V70-XC70 1998

Hello All,
I'm a one month newbie. I've been reading the forums and then studying my engine. Today I noticed what looks like two vacuum lines going nowhere. They are both black and are attached to a holder mounted to the front of the windshield washer fill pipe. Both lines are open to the air.

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Richard

Vent hoses for the washers. They tee into a check valve. When the check valve fails, they squirt weasher gfluid.

Thanks. I feel much better now. I'm still re-learning my way around the engine after not doing any of my own service for the several years I had a Honda.

Thanks for the idea. Both washers work. Does this make sense?
