If I were to switch to synthetic oil or ATF fluid at this point isn't more likely that I will experience leaks?

Anyone know of an honest, and not too expensive Volvo mechanic in Clearwater Area or Tampa Bay?

I wouldn't expect leaks, but the effect of synth will not be the same as if you started with almost no miles. The synth will do better in extreme hot and cold and has better wear properties. Still have to change it though!

I switched and didn't experience any leaks. Maybe some people have abused their cars, I don't know? I would do it.

I switched a 96 850 with 101,000 miles on the clock to both Mobil l oil and ATF. No leaks in about a year. I'd go for it.
